2009 403B Update
Lee Rosenberg, CFP | June 5th, 2009403(b) UPDATE: The IRS recently announced that they had come up with a prototype of a 403(b) plan that will make it easier for plan administrators to comply with the IRS regulations governing these retirement plans. The prototype is intended to assure employers who adopt it that they will be in compliance with the requirements that went into effect on January 1. It will also enable plan administrators to get advance approval. There are also plans for the IRS to develop a separate approval system for plans that need the flexibility to customize rather than follow the formula.
